Day does it again...
So, another weekend, another win for Australia's Jason Day, who cruised to a four-stroke victory at Sawgrass to take golf's unofficial 'fifth Major' - the Players Championship.
We say 'cruised', but that doesn't necessarily tell the full story. Despite reaching the halfway point in a record 129 blows, it was tough going thereafter with the world number one even treating us to a few duffed chips and a four-putt.
However, the 28-year-old was not to be denied, and reminded everyone of his class and mental toughness when he completed the back nine in 33, just when he was starting to look vulnerable. Remind you of anyone?
Ah yes, Tiger Woods, who's been back in the news this week after attending Congressional Country Club for the Quicken Loans National media day.
As part of a promotional stunt for a charitable effort from his tournament's title sponsor, he took to the tee on the par-3 10th - and dunked three efforts into the water.
It would appear Woods is still a long way off making a competitive return to action. For now, all we can do is sit back and enjoy the Jason Day Show - there would seem to be a few more of them on the way. It's now seven wins in 17 starts by the way, impressive stuff.

Getting to the root of the problem (on-course tuition)
If you could save yourself just one stroke per round, week in week out, your handicap would be a full shot better? Sounds simple? That's because it is... Over a four week course we will take you through the trouble shots that really cause you problems on the course and develop the tools you need to tackle them more effectively.
Over the course of four weeks, students will pick a shot type that causes them particular issues on the golf course and we will spend one hour on the course learning to play that shot more effectively. For example, every week you are left with a soft pitch over a particular bunker, we will go out on the course and teach you how to play this shot more effectively, go through the set-up, technique, club selection, as well as other shot options.
This course will run on a Friday morning (10am) and Friday evening (6pm) and will cost £50 per person for the four weeks. Example:
Week One - Lag putting from outside 25ft
Week Two - Tricky bunker shots
Week Three - Chipping from greenside rough
Week Four - 30-50 yard pitch shot over obstacles
These classes will start next week. Click here to get in touch for more details or to book your place on any of the sessions listed.
