Once again the weather has not been too kind to us over the last few days. The excitement for the golfing season is definitely building particularly with The Masters starting this week. As we know Augusta favours the player who can move it from right to left in the air, but it mainly favours the player who makes the most par saving putts. I am expecting a big performance from Rory McIlroy this year, I just feel it's his time to win it. However a case could be made for almost anyone in the top 20 with nobody playing particularly poorly at the minute. Who do you fancy for the win? Send us a message here with your pick, for your chance to win a one hour short game lesson.

The World of Golf... Ladies PING G Le product made a huge splash at the weekend as Pernilla Lindberg won the USPGA Championship defeating Inbee Park on Monday morning after an eight hole play-off. Most ladies on the LPGA Tour use clubs, particularly drivers designed for men and we in the pro shop when fitting always see ladies arrive with clubs designed for men. The PING G Le range, as used by Lindberg in her victory, is one of the most impressive drivers on the market, whether ladies or men's. The performance is so impressive because the head is much lighter than a men's driver which means the club can be swung faster. Fancy testing a PING G Le driver out ladies, pop in to see us in the pro shop and we can set one up for you. Ian Poulter's win at the Houston Open was typical Poulter. Told last week he was in the Masters, then told he wasn’t. The only way to get in is to win… so Poulter gets his trusty Odyssey putter from Ryder Cups gone by out of the cupboard and goes chest thumping into a play-off to eventually win the Houston Open and book his spot at Augusta, could Poulter be a dark horse? He has all the attributes to win, especially as confident as he will be this week. Poulter carried all Titleist product in his bag for the win at Houston apart from his trusty Odyssey No.7 putter. Surprisingly like many tour players now, Poulter plays a more cavity back design in his irons TMB and AP2 styles rather than traditional blades or muscle back irons. He also carries a 16.5 degree 3-wood, as that allows him the versatility to hit it off the tee and the fairway. Are you still fitting your way through the season with a 15 degree 3-wood and struggle off the ground with it? Add some loft, make it easier to use in a variety of lies and easier to shape of the tee. Call in and have us give you some advice on whether your clubs are helping or hindering your golf before the season really starts. |
Put your name up in lights |
It only comes around once a year and it’s that time again - Masters week! The first Major of the year takes place at Augusta National this week, which we always take as a sign that the season is getting underway. With this in mind, we have one question for you: are you ready to play your best golf this year? |
Maximise your potential We've all sat looking at the honours boards in a clubhouse before, admiring the one name that appears to be on most and thinking 'wow, they must be pretty good!' Well, how good would it feel if that name up in lights was yours? If you come and speak to us we can talk about your strengths, weaknesses and goals for this season and look at the best way to help you achieve them, whether that’s a one-off fault-fixer lesson, regular sessions to aid your consistency or perhaps a look at your equipment. |
