Fun Golf & BBQ Thursday, 11 July
Blackwood Ladies are hosting a 9-hole fun golf evening and BBQ on Thursday, 11 July and hope that you can come along with friends or family. The event is open to all members, Ladies and Gents, Blackwood and Mahee and to their friends and families, golfers and non-golfers. The poster below has the details. We hope you will support this night as it was great fun last year. Please contact Lady Vice Captain, Susan Stockton on 07790359991 to book a team slot or for any further information. Members can form their own teams or submit their names to be teamed up at random; alternatively, for those wishing to just eat, the BBQ will start from 7:00pm onwards at 19. |

Lady Captain’s Charity Golf Event
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Lady Captain’s Charity Golf event on Thursday, 20 June in aid of the National Autistic Society (Newtownards Branch). Despite a small shower, some very good golf was played over nine holes and congratulations to winner Jill Macdonald and runner-up Maeve Bogie (LVC Mahee). Congratulations also to ‘golf’ quiz team winners Edith Clegg, Heather Gibson (LC Mahee), and Ann Hamilton (Mahee) who returned a strong score on questions ranging from Abba, the Blackwood course and Miss Isette Pearson (a founder of the Ladies Golf Union)! Thank you also to Quizmaster Susan Stockton and to Suzi and Dom at 19 for their generous arrangements, delicious food and for looking after us so well. |

Is there a better time than summer to be out playing golf? Silly question, really. So, now you’ve got your cap on and you’re lathered in sun lotion, it’s time to make sure the most important part of your body (arguably) is protected: your eyes. |

UV protection You don’t need us to tell you that staring straight at the sun is not the smartest idea, but these sunglasses come with UV protection to keep those harmful rays at bay.

Enhanced vision The best thing about the Mercenary is that it comes with Oakley's Dark Prizm lenses, which help to improve colour, contrast and detail for maximum clarity on the course.
|
Stylish look Last but by no means least, these sunnies are incredibly stylish with a modern frame and larger lens shape, meaning you'll happily wear them all day long.
