Course update I know that the weather has been shocking and there has been very few out on the course, but if you have been out there you will see how much work has been done in clearing away the “trouble” areas, there has been a lot of trees trimmed, canopies lifted, sight lines opened, the guys have not stopped. The ditch in front of the 8th has been completing cleared out and has become a real feature of the hole where a few weeks ago it was just an eyesore. Great credit has to go to Paul, Gary and Norman for this unbelievable effort in such a short time. Also Jonnie and all his green staff have not stopped in getting the paths in a much better shape, starting to work on the bunkers edging, sorting out some of our drainage issues and really getting stuck in behind the scenes. This is work that sometimes goes unnoticed but it is the life blood of the set-up. Once the New Year comes around we have a few new areas to tackle then we will go about getting the course ready for the season that is not that far away. Our priority this year is to start the year with very little rough and keep it that way. Now that we have opened up a lot of the areas we will concentrate from the start of the year to the end of the season on pure maintenance work before the cycle starts again next winter on a few more projects. 2020 looks like it is going to be the year that our centre and club move forward together and really start to flourish into what we all knew it could be. Working with the new club will be exciting and as I have always stated the most important thing that we need to concentrate on is the course. We have come up with a new finance structure in regards to how the club and centre work together and this has been shown with my commitment to the new fees rewarding the members commitment back to my plans at the AGM that I know pulled at quite a few heartstrings and I really appreciate it. We will get the bunkers tidied up for this season coming then over the following three to four winters we will be looking at re-shaping all the bunkers on the course to really lift both the playability of the course as well as the visuals. This is an area that really needs to be looked at and that will be the focus of our immediate future investments in the course. Will keep you informed as to what is happening and when.
