Lowry's long game masterclass
What a fine win it was at the weekend for Shane Lowry, who won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in fantastic style. The Irishman began the day two shots back, but emerged victorious to win by two from the big-hitting Bubba Watson. Of course, many of you will already know this and we dare say a few of you cashed in on the 100/1 shot, who has been in superb form this season.
My Buying Group, Foremost Golf, was invited to an equipment launch recently where Lowry was a speaker. In his own words he was "Striking the ball nicely" and put his recent good form down to improvements in his ball striking and long game. In the end, he struck some pretty impressive wedges, too - none better than on 10, where he fashioned an approach from behind the trees to stick the ball to tap-in birdie range.
Lowry admits to being more of a 'feel' player than being overly technical. Whilst you are undoubtedly born with such talent, a huge amount of hard work has gone into his game. If you haven't watched final-round highlights, make sure you do. And if you're desperate to start making some improvements, or perhaps add a Shane-like recovery shot to your armoury, come and see us or get in touch here.

PING GMax irons
The brand new PING GMax iron is engineering at its very best with COR-Eye Technology, a revolutionary design that increases face flexing for faster ball speeds across the face to generate incredible distance. The wide sole design positions the CG low/back to maximize forgiveness. Progressive lengths and lofts are optimized for efficient gapping with the distance control and high trajectory you need to hit and hold more greens. The new cavity structure houses a concealed Custom Tuning Port that connects to the sole. With this deeper position, each iron's CG is lower and farther back for extreme forgiveness and higher launch. The wide sole design positions the centre of gravity to maximize forgiveness, leading to shots that launch higher and land softly. An enhanced leading edge, more trailing-edge relief and refined bounce optimize turf interaction and ensure solid contact.
PING iSeries irons
The iseries iron is custom-engineered with 431 stainless steel for its high strength-to-weight ratio and softer feel, the weight savings from the 431 steel and the deeper CTP position allow for expanded perimeter weighting in a head design that delivers workability and trajectory control with forgiveness. Larger head sizes and low/back centre of gravity positions in the long irons ensure forgiveness while inspiring the confidence to attack greens from longer distances with shots that launch high and land softly. The smaller short irons and wedges provide precision and control. Lengths and lofts are optimized to increase distance with proper gapping. The sole glides through the grass with ease, ensuring the solid contact required to play with control and consistency. Additional bounce delivers exceptional performance in all conditions.
These are both available for full custom fitting with the use of our FlightScope launch monitor. We can also offer trade-ins if you have an old set of irons lying around that you would like to replace with a brand new set! Click here if you would like to try these fantastic new products.
